Nolan made the break today and won the King of the Mountain sprint. He is now tied for first in the KOM. The break stayed away but only by about 15 seconds at the end. Nolan took 7th. It was quite a day.

No one on the US National team made the break. Their coach was chewing them out after the race pretty hard. It was cool seeing Ben King, Taylor Phinney and company chasing Nolan's break down. Big time stuff.

I guess Nolan must have been asking himself - "What would Zach Hockett do?"

I get to work in the mine tomorrow airing up tires and putting bikes on an off the wind trainers. Oh boy!!! It is the time trial in the morning and a crit in the evening.

Nolan is now in 18th place overall. With a little luck and a lot of sweat, he'll see top 10 by tomorrow afternoon.
